David took his talents to the film industry after moving to Orlando, Florida. He received an Associates of Film Degree from Full Sail University and later became an instructor at the campus specializing in set-design, art history and art direction. Guess was an actively working illustrator, cartoonist, abstract painter and story-board artist up to his untimely passing in 2019.
David received the Owen Gromme Scholarship in 1999, as well as the recipient of the Wisconsin Dells Art Association Scholarship in 1997.
Guess’ YUCCA comic strip first ran in “The Reedsburg Independent,” a small, weekly newspaper in south central Wisconsin in July 2000. The strip received “Honorable Mention” from National Columbia Scholastic Awards, 2002 (Comic Strip Division), for work published in “F-News Magazine.”
