About

In the Folds

In 1997 Mike Carignan, along with other artists and technicians, started MADJEC JET Publishing Co. Over its 13 years in business the company published 26 titles. Carignan contributed as editor on many of those titles and administrator on all of them. In 2014 he returned to the book publishing field by starting up In the Folds Books, LLC and publishing two more titles.

In 2021 the name of the business was changed to In the Folds Book Publishing, LLC (ITF) as Carignan came out of retirement to re-establish the business as it initially was in 1997 as both a book publisher and book producer. (As a book publisher the company assumes all expenses for the production, marketing and distribution of a book. As a result the company pays a royalty to the author and/or illustrator but keeps all other profits generated by the sales of the book. As a producer, the author of the book expends all the resources needed to produce, market and distribute a book but keeps all profits generated by the sale of the book.)

Initially, In the Folds Book Publishing, plans to publish two to six titles per year and assist in self-publishing as many books as presented.

So if you have an idea for a book ITF is interested in the following:

  • The world’s DYI’ers are always looking for unique ways to do something. Add a historic aspect to it if you will.
  • Maybe you spent your recent quarantined days writing your memoirs or the great American novel, ITF would like to hear about it.
  • Are you somewhat of an expert on a particular subject, let ITF tell the world what you know.
  • And especially those of you who while spending so much time with your children have come up with a great ideas for a kids’ book.

Please send only a query letter with a SASE to In the Folds Book Publishing, P.O. Box 269, North Freedom, WI 53951. Do not send manuscripts, sample chapters or resume unless asked to do so by our staff.

New to our services list are e-book formatting and enhanced marketing on major sites. Future plans are to add print-on-demand and a photo gallery  to our list.

With more and more of the reading public preferring to read their books of choice on their electronic devices, offering ebook formatting along with print format is a necessary service.

Marketing is not only necessary it is an essential part of a project’s success. ITF knows this and can list your books on several key book selling sites as well as our own bookstore. In addition advertising campaigns can be designed to most effectively reach the right readers for your book.

Add these to all our other services like writing, editing, illustration, design, proofreading, photography, copyrighting, layout, distribution, administration, ISBNs and barcodes, ITF can provide for all a project needs to reach completion.
